GS Caltex, which ended its eight-year run with coach Sang-hyun Cha, hired IBK Industrial Bank senior coach Young-taek Lee, who reigned as Korea's best middle blocker during his active career, as its new coach.

In order to transform into a team that will not easily collapse and plan a new future, GS Caltex reviewed various candidates from various perspectives, and after careful consideration, chose coach Lee Young-taek, who possesses young leadership that values ​​communication with players.

Coach Lee Young-taek, who newly took the helm of GS Caltex, graduated from Moon Il High School and Hanyang University and began his career as a player for Korean Air in 2000, playing an active role as a middle blocker representing Korea until 2015.

Coach Lee Young-taek, who ended his career as a player and transformed into a leader starting as head coach of Hyundai Engineering & Construction in 2015, served as coach of the men's national volleyball team in 2017 and as head coach and manager at Cheong Kwan-Jang since 2019. Afterwards, coach Lee Young-taek, who continued to take on new challenges as a leader at Indonesia's Sumsel Babel Bank in 2022, returned as the head coach of Industrial Bank of Korea in 2023 and quietly built his career.
