Son Heung-min, who I miss from the ‘Sonke Duo’ days

"It was a great honor to play with Harry Kane."

On the 12th (Korean time), soccer media outlet 'Euro Sports' reported Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min's interview with 'TNT Sports'. On this day, Son Heung-min attracted attention when he mentioned his old partner, Harry Kane (Bayern Munich).

Son Heung-min and Kane showed off their fantastic chemistry at Tottenham and left their mark as the best combination of all time in the English Premier League.

The duo, also known as the 'Sonke Duo', scored 47 goals together in the Premier League until last season, beating the 'Didier Drogba-Frank Lampard duo (36 goals)' by a wide margin and maintaining the sole lead in joint goals.

The most lethal combination in Premier League history was disbanded last summer when Kane transferred to Bayern Munich, a prestigious club in the German Bundesliga.

Kane is the player who scored the most goals in the club's history, scoring 280 goals and 64 assists in 435 games for Tottenham's first team. There were quite a few concerns from Tottenham after Kane left, but Son Heung-min succeeded in filling Kane's vacancy.

Son Heung-min, who was appointed Tottenham captain ahead of the 2023-24 season, has scored 15 goals and 9 assists in the league so far, scoring the most attack points in the team. Thanks to Son Heung-min's performance, Tottenham ranked 4th in the Premier League, increasing their chances of advancing to the UEFA Champions League next season.

Kane is also taking charge of Munich's attack, showing off his incredible scoring ability with his new team. This season, Kane has scored 32 goals and 9 assists in the league alone, and has scored 39 goals and 12 assists in all competitions, showing the scoring ability of a world-class striker.

Son Heung-min and Kane maintain a good relationship even after breaking up. When Son Heung-min recently reached his 400th appearance in Tottenham's career, Kane sent a congratulatory message to Son Heung-min.

At the time, Kane said: "Congratulations on reaching your 400th game, Sonny. It's an incredible achievement. I was incredibly lucky to have played with you. I've had the privilege of playing with you every week, a great footballer and a great person. I look forward to scoring in many more games to come." “I hope you do,” he said, cheering for Son Heung-min.

Son Heung-min also missed the days he spent with Kane. According to the media, Son Heung-min recalled his time playing with Kane and said, "Kane and I played together for almost 10 years, and we had a connection and something different."

“Even though we played almost the same position, we knew where each other was,” he said. “We demanded a lot from each other and it was a very special relationship. It was a great honor to play with Kane.”

He said, “To me, Kane is one of the best players in the world,” and “It was really sad for me when he left, but it was a good move for Kane,” and supported Kane’s new challenge.

Son Heung-min said, “Kane has scored more than 30 goals for Bayern Munich, and I hope he can score more goals,” and hoped that Kane’s performance will continue.

Even after Kane left, Son Heung-min praised his close teammate on several occasions. In October of last year, when Son Heung-min was compared to Kane, he said, "Kane is on a different level from me," and showed humility by refusing to be compared to Kane. He also could not hide his delight at his teammate's performance, saying, "The Bundesliga is another tough league, and seeing Kane completely dominate it makes me very happy for him."
