Korea's first 'LET Aramco Team Series' tees off in May

Kim Hyo-joo, who plays on the LPGA Tour, will participate in the Aramco Team Series of the Ladies European Golf Tour (LET), which will be held for the first time in Korea next month.

The Aramco Team Series, sponsored by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), will be held at New Korea CC in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do from the 10th to the 12th of next month.

The Aramco Team Series tours five countries annually. This is the first LET competition held in Korea.

The format of the competition is that three professional players team up with one amateur player and compete for the team trophy. On the final day, professional players compete for individual titles.

The tournament organizers invited Kim Hyo-joo, who has six LPGA Tour wins in her career. Kim Hyo-joo said, "I heard how special the Aramco Team Series is. I know it is on a similar level to the LPGA Tour major tournaments," and she said, "As soon as I heard that it would be held in Korea for the first time, I decided to participate."

At the same time, she pledged, "I am looking forward to it because the tournament format is unique. This is my first time participating in a tournament with this type of game management method, and I will do my best to showcase high-level performance with LPGA players."

Danielle Kang, a Korean-American who plays on the LPGA tour, will also participate. Daniel Kang said, “I like competitions where I compete as a team, and I am really happy to participate in the team series held in Korea.”
